Ketika Sharma stars as Sai Dharam Tej's girlfriend in 'BRO', which hits the cinemas on July 28. In this interview, the 'Romantic' and 'Lakshya' actress talks about her role and more.
The film is produced by People Media Factory. Also starring Priya Prakash Varrier and others, 'BRO' is a remake of the Tamil film 'Vinodhaya Sitham'.
In the original version, my corresponding character didn't have much role. In the remake, my role is more important relatively. I am playing Mark's girlfriend. I am his love interest. Mark is Sai Dharam Tej's name. It is a pretty performance-oriented role. Everyone in the film is there for a purpose. There are no lags. And everyone adds to the movement of the story.
When the film came my way and I was told Pawan Kalyan is doing it, I didn't have anything else to say. I could only have done the film. I don't have any combination scenes with him, though. I got to say 'Hi' to him just once one fine day. Sai Tej introduced me to him. It was a five-minute meeting. That's it. Our shoot days didn't coincide.
This project came my way when 'Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga' was coming to an end. It's a combination of PK sir and Sai Tej. I was excited as a viewer as well as an artist. Vaisshnav Tej and Sai Tej are different personalities. The latter is a little shy but once he is comfortable with you, he is very childlike and chilled out. Vaisshnav is more shy compared to his elder brother.
In 'BRO', you will find fun dialogues and the script is tight. My intro scene with Sai Tej is so funny and it has the mark of Trivikram sir (the screenplay and dialogue writer). Samuthirakani sir is a fast-paced director who doesn't expect his artists to give too many takes. He is clear-minded. Since this is a remake, he used to come to sets very well-prepared. It was lots of fun shooting with him.
Neetha Lulla has styled my costumes in the song 'Jaanavule'. She gave me very nice looks. Shooting for the song was one of the best experiences. We shot for it in Austria. This is my first dance number.
The word 'bro' is an emotion. All my friends are bros. I have a biological brother who lives in Australia.
People Media Factory pampers every artist. I have been so comfortable thanks to producer TG Vishwa Prasad sir. I have been taken lots of good care by the banner.
I am hoping that 'BRO' does really well and I land many more opportunities. I am really grateful for all the films that I have done so far. I am doing a project with Aha Video, which will make the announcement soon. It's not an OTT project. It's an interesting project. I am also doing a Bollywood project. I have had so many dream projects and dream co-stars and dream directors. I want to do a biopic of any famous personality. I will get to dive into the psyche of the person I am playing.
