Samuthirakani has played the main villain in 'Macherla Niyojakavargam', which is heading to theatres on August 12. In this interview, the artist talks about his role, working experience with Nithiin, his journey in Tollywood, and his upcoming Telugu movies.
'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo', 'Krack', 'RRR', 'Bheemla Nayak', and 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' are my big commercial movies in Telugu. I have also done 'Aakashavaani' (direct OTT release on SonyLiv) in Telugu. I thank my directors (Trivikram, Gopichand Malineni, Rajamouli, Saagar Chandra, and Parasuram). I have got to work with a variety of directors in Telugu. Each of them has got a unique trait.
Coming to 'Macherla Niyojakavargam', the film happened about a year ago. Rajappa is the name of my character. He is the main villain. There is extraordinary depth in the character. It gave me a wide scope to perform.
When the director narrated the story, I felt it reflected what happens in States like Bihar and Tamil Nadu. A District Collector once boldly ensured that elections were held in a free and fair manner in many villages where elections had been totally stamped out through muscle power by undemocratic elements.
Nithiin sir is a nice human being. He is a very soft person. I struggled to get harsh with him in front of the camera.
Producer Sudhakar Reddy garu was caring. Right from the first day, he was observant on set. He ensured discipline and comfort. The technical departments did everything they could to ensure the best.
Once I watched the film on the screen, I forgot all my hard work. 'MN' is a complete package. Krithi Shetty, Subhalekha Sudhakar sir and others have done a great job. Nithiin sir is superb, really! His acting is appealing totally. You are going to see a new Nithiin in the movie. My scenes with him are going to enthuse the audience with dialogues and action.
'Godfather' (starring Chiranjeevi) is among my next movies. 'Dasara' with Nani is another of my upcoming projects. I am doing 'Panchathantram' in Telugu.
