Since a long time Chiranjeevi's entry into the politics is much a matter of discussion among many his fans, political parties, learned, media people and also common people. Several people and political parties considered him as a lay man in politics and that he cannot handle the complex issues of the state. Moreover the prolonged suspense of his entry into politics and announcements added for speculation of his capacities. Chiranjeevi today broken the suspense by arranging a press meet at his newly constructed party office in Hyderabad. To the way in which he conducted the press meet, his cool, calm and lively ready made answers to the battle of questions by the media surprised all the people present at the venue and many viewing the TV's anxiously
The following are the important points Chiranjeevi discussed on several issues with media.
For the question raised by few media persons on the salvation of farmer's problems in the state, Chiranjeevi gently replied that since he came from a farmer's family he knows the problems of the farmers. He even said that he used to do farming whenever he visits his home. He also reiterated that a scientific study will be made to solve their problems.
When the media described him like a Robin Hood, Chiru immediately replied that he is not, but a livelihood for the poor.
For the question on declaration of his assets, Chiranjeevi readily replied that his assets are already known in the IT dept.
One of the media persons questioned him whether he got any rival political leaders. He said that he does not have any rivals, instead his rivalry is only against poverty and the gap between rich and the poor should be bridged.
When the media asked him whether is he saying goodbye to the 30 years long film industry, Chiru answered that he cannot forget the film industry because it is like his mother. If any social films are necessary for reformation he will do them.
He further added by saying that the women are his major strength and he will do necessary schemes for their upliftment.
For yet another question asked by a person about his comments on Chandra Babu Naidu and YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s government, he politely replied by saying that his policies are different, hence would like to do things in a different manner.
Someone questioned about how many seats he would be expecting in the coming elections. He promptly replied by saying that it’s the people who will decide since he is not in politics for any post or authority.
Chiru concluded that his inspiration to join politics is due to well wishes of former president of India Sri APJ Abdul Kalam whom he met and took advice. Another example to him is Late Sri NT Rama Rao who has shown and proved that film actors are also suitable for social services.
