We all know that Uttarandhra region along with Vizag has been devastated by the recent Hudhud cyclone. This catastrophe has obliterated lives, homes and huge property in Uttarandhra region. Telugu film industry will always be in the forefront when it comes to provide their help to restore the damage. Our Tollywood celebrities have come forward to do their bit for Uttarandhra region. Many prominent people in the Telugu film industry have not stopped their work just by donating huge amounts to the people whose lives have been devastated due to the disaster, they have conducted a program named ‘Menu Saitam’ in which anyone can participate. Many celebrities from the Telugu film industry have participated in the event which was held on 30th of November i.e. on Sunday at Annapurna Seven Acres in Hyderabad.
On this occasion Dasari Narayana Rao said, “There is an integral relationship between film industry and people. People always encourage film industry. Film industry people will also do their bit when any disaster occurs. Right from the days Viswa Vikhyatha Natasarvabhoumudu NTR, who collected donations by wearing a sling and encouraged other people too and conducted welfare program when there was a famine in Rayalaseema and cyclone in Andhra region, to the latest ‘Memu Saitam’ program, we have done many such programs like National Defense program, Diviseema program and another program in 1975 for police relief fund in Kakinada and also conducted Peace Rally in 1977 in Hyderabad. In 1998 we have collected Rs.3 Crores by playing cricket with Mumbai Stars and handed it over to CM relief fund. We did Street Rally in 1999 for peace. Police Stadium was built by collecting Rs.70 Crores by conducting Dasari Film Night program. We have donated Rs.30 Lakhs when NTR was CM and Rs.35 Lakhs another time and Rs.1 Crore in 1990. We have handed over Rs.9 Crores 60 Thousand to Mr. K Rosaiah in 2011-12. Amount is not important, but our inspiration is important. Starting from the days of NTR and ANR and next our generation and now Suresh Babu, Kiran and Shyam Prasad and all are doing hard work. Next generation must be ready if any such disaster comes. I hope such disasters will not occur once again. I congratulate to all artists and technicians who participated in the event.”
Manchu Mohan Babu said, “This is one platform to say that the Telugu film industry will always stood by peoples’ side when it comes to provide help. It’s our responsibility to make the program successful.”
Nandamuri Bala Krishna said, “Service to man is service to god. Now we have started a campaign. My father did many such programs in the past. Telugu film industry is one family. Film industry people will always be in forefront to do their bit when any disaster occurs. Our program which is conducted to ensure the people, whose lives have been devastated due to Hudhud cyclone in Uttarandhra region, will inspire those people. I wish that other people should also come forward and do their bit for those people.”
P Susheela said, “I’m very happy that Dasari narayana Rao and K Raghavendra Rao are organizing this program. To be part of this event without recollecting NTR is impossible. He collected donations by wearing a sling and encouraged other people too. And ANR too did the same. Anantha Sriram has penned the song for this event, while Koti composed the music for the song. On this occasion, I’m donating Rs.1 Lakh on behalf of Music family.”
