‘Yatra’ - The biopic on the late chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhar Reddy, starring Malayalam superstar Mammootty in the lead role, is one of the much awaited films of this year. The first single ‘Samara Shankham’ of the film is released on September 2, marking the death anniversary of late sri. YSR.
Mahi V Raghav is directing the biopic. Vijay Chilla and Shasi Devireddy are bankrolling this prestigious project under 70mm Entertainments banner. Musical scores is by K. The film is scheduled to release for Sankranthi 2019. The first look and teaser have garnered great response from viewers.
‘Yatra’ will portray the political journey of YS Rajasekhar Reddy. The focus will be on the marathon ‘Padayatra’ which eventually led to YSR’s victory in the Assembly elections. YSR has started his 60-day padayatra to highlight drought related problems on April 9 in 2003.
Apart from Mammootty, the film also features Rao Ramesh, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Posani Krishna Murali, Vinod Kumar and Sachin Khedekar.
