'Akhanda' completed its 100-day run recently. On Saturday, Balakrishna and others were present at Kurnool's STBC College grounds to celebrate its success.
Speaking on the occasion, Balayya said that he and Boyapati Srinu didn't aim to surpass 'Simha' and 'Legend' when they collaborated for the third time for 'Akhanda'. Describing the success of the film as resounding, he remembered that NTR, his father, used to do thought-provoking and entertaining movies.
Balayya said that he accepted the film when Boyapati impressed him with the storyline. "He knows how to use an actor. This blockbuster movie has been running for hundred days in Koyilakuntla, Adoni, Yemmiganur, and Chilakaluripet," the Hindupur MLA said.
On his part, Boyapati Srinu said that Balakrishna has tried a variety of genres, including mythology, folklore, faction, action and family dramas. Speaking about the success of 'Akhanda', the director said, "The fans have embraced our films and turned them into amazing successes. You treat me like your family member. The strength of Balakrishna is his fans." About the film, the director said, "It is very rare to talk about nature, divinity, and Dharma in a mass commercial film. I bow my head to the God who gave me the opportunity to do so."
