The high-profile pre-release event of 'Brahmastra' (theatrical release on Sept 9) at Ramoji Film City today stood cancelled just an hour or so before it was to begin. The public event has been cancelled, but the pre-release event will now take the form of a press meet at a star hotel on Friday evening.
Jr NTR's fans are mighty disappointed. They were expecting to catch their favourite star speaking at the event. Addressing a large crowd won't match the excitement of him answering the media's questions.
The buzz is that the Hyderabad police cancelled the permission at the last minute in view of the huge response to the event. With a more-than-expected number rumouredly turning up at the venue, the police, who are rumouredly focussing on maintaining law and order in Hyderabad during the Ganesh festival, decided not to take any chances.
