Taraka Ratna passed away in February this year weeks after suffering a fatal cardiac arrest. He was treated at a private hospital in Bengaluru for weeks. Apparently, the treatment did cost his family a bomb, as it involved intensive and multi-disciplinary interventions. Nandamuri Balakrishna has been moved by the incident.
The 'Veera Simha Reddy' actor has now decided to do charity through two hospitals. He will be making heart-related surgery free of cost for patients suffering from Cardio-thoracic health issues at his hospital in Hindupur as well as at the famous Basavatarakam hospital in Hyderabad.
In the Hindupur hospital, the H-Block has been re-named the Taraka Ratna Block.
The 'Akhanda' actor has been quoted as saying that he doesn't want the needy to die of cardio-thoracic issues like his nephew.
