'Leader', Rana Daggubati's debut outing, was released in theatres in 2010. The news is that the political drama is up for a theatrical re-release on May 9, just days before the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.
The film, co-starring Richa Gangopadhyay, Priya Anand, Suhasini Maniratnam, Suman, and Subbaraju, was produced by AVM Productions. Its music was by Mickey J Meyer.
Recently, there was a rumour that 'Leader 2' would be made as a thematic sequel. Kammula merely said that, if such a film were to be made today, its narrative would fit into today's times.
Years after Leader's release, Kammula expressed the wish to remake it in Tamil with Rajinikanth as the hero.
On May 2, the teaser for 'Kubera', Kammula's next movie, will be out. Starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna, it is a pan-Indian movie.
