'Ukku Satyagraham', starring Satya Reddy in the lead, is produced and directed by him. Set in the backdrop of the Vizag Steel Plant, the film features a song written and rendered by balladeer Gaddar. 'Samme nee janmahakkuranno', so goes the song. Gaddar has also penned two other songs for the movie. He also inspired a few thought-provoking scenes. Two of the songs have been written by Suddala Ashok Teja and Goreti Venkanna.
The news is that the film will head to theatres on August 30.
Coming with the caption 'Visakha Ukku Telugu Vaari Hakku', the film has been blessed by Ande Sri, the author of the Telangana state anthem, among others.
Its event today was attended by Ande Sri, late Gaddar's son Suryam, folk poet Goreti Venkanna, Telangana movement's chief ideologue Prof. Kodanda Ram, Nandini Siddha Reddy, and Allam Narayana. The guests unveiled a poster on the occasion.
Steel plant union leaders, employees, land dwellers, intellectuals, poets, artists and writers have worked hard to make the film, the makers claimed.
Shot in Vizag, near the famous India Gate in New Delhi, the Jantar Mantar, the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan, and the Singareni Coal Mines, the film has music by Sri Koti. The cinematography is by Venkat. Produced by P Satish Reddy, the film is written also by Sri Vemula.
