The period crime thriller film 'Viduthalai Part 2' (Tamil) will be released in Telugu as 'Vidudala 2'. The sequel will head to theatres in all languages on December 20 this year.
Also starring Soori (as a constable) as a lead man, the film is bankrolled by Elred Kumar. RS Infotainment is making it in collaboration with the acclaimed filmmaker Vetrimaaran.
Vijay Sethupathi (as the leader of an outfit named Makkal Padai), basking in the success of 'Maharaja', is counting big-time on this movie, whose music is by the legendary Ilaiyaraaja. R Velraj is its cinematographer.
Bhavani Sri, Rajiv Menon (as an IAS officer), Gautham Vasudev Menon (as an IPS officer), Chetan, Manju Warrier (as the wife of Vijay's character), and Anurag Kashyap are part of the cast. The Tamil version is going to be distributed by Red Giant Movies.
'Vidudala 2', whose release date is December 20, is an adaptation of a short story titled 'Thunaivan', written in Tamil by Jeyamohan.
