"The shoot of the second part has been completed to an extent. The shoot of the pending portions and the VFX part might take more than one year. While nothing has been firmed up as to the release date of 'Kalki 2', it might release in 2025 around this time (June or July)." These were the words of producer C Aswini Dutt in the first week of July.
Cut to the present, his daughter, Swapna Dutt, says that 'Kalki 2' will be released in theatres only in 2028. The film, to be directed by Nag Ashwin, will commence its shoot in early 2025.
It is presumed that Nag Ashwin and his team have planned to make 'Kalki 2' on a bigger scale and that's why they are going to go slow.
Prabhas is also doing 'The Raja Saab', Hanu Raghavapudi's 'Fauji' and Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Spirit'. The first of these, directed by Maruthi, will hit the cinemas on April 10, 2025. As for Nag Ashwin, he is associated with AVM Studios on a project nicknamed as 'Project S'.
