'Pushpa 2: The Rule' ends on a suspenseful, vague note. What happens to Pushpa Raj and his extended family at a wedding after a bomb goes off? That's a question for which there is no definite answer.
A theory is that Pushpa Raj is believed to be dead by everyone. But he lives in exile in the Seshachalam forests. This will be the beginning point of 'Pushpa 3'. After the bomb blast incident, the entire Chittoor comes to a standstill when Pushpa's cult followers start rioting.
As per a fan theory doing the rounds, Fahadh Faasil's Shekawat is very much alive. It is he who comes back to eliminate Pushpa Raj in the climax of 'Pushpa 2', as per this theory. So, is it not Vijay Deverakonda whose back we see in the climax? One hopes Shekawat doesn't come back. There is nothing interesting about him anymore.
Fan theories have to lead to something interesting. In the case of 'Vikram', that happened. The Lokesh Cinematic Universe has generated excitement. The excitement waned a bit after the release of 'Leo'. Fan theories were floated about the climax of 'KGF 2'. They were exciting. Fan theories were floated about 'Salaar 2' when 'Salaar' was released last year. Again, they were exciting. In the case of 'Pushpa 2', that factor is absent.
