'Kalki 2898 AD' accused of indulging in 'Cameoporn'

'Kalki 2898 AD' has been accused by a section of cinephiles of 'cameoporn'. What do they mean by it? The incessant urge to infuse cameos in a movie.

In Prabhas' latest movie, the cameos are by Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, SS Rajamouli, and Ram Gopal Varma.

But were those cameos forced? With the sole exception of SSR and RGV, the rest of the cameos added weight to the respective characters.

Arjuna had to be played by someone with a starry charm (it is another matter that his dialogue delivery is disappointing). DQ's cameo is important because he was Bhairava's guardian; moreover, he might have a greater role in the sequel, if some fan theories are anything to go by. Mrunal's cameo is worth it because of the heft her character comes with.
