'Indian 2' is slated to hit the cinemas on July 12. Prima facie, the film doesn't look exciting. Its Trailer is a flop. Its songs, especially the 'Calender Song', are frustratingly bad.
Amidst this, during a promotional event, Kamal Haasan suggested that 'Indian 3' is the real deal. He added that he is a big fan of 'Indian 3'.
His words have been distorted by Netizens to mean that he is not fond of 'Indian 2'. It is a stretch to say so but, even otherwise, it is clear that 'Indian 2' is not as important as 'Indian 3'. In a recent interview, director Shankar said that the third part is going to feature period portions for a good amount of screentime. Kamal did 'Indian 2' because there is 'Indian 3'.
'Indian 2' has another minus. The audience will have to watch Siddharth as much as Kamal. Now, Siddharth is not a bad actor but he is not in form at all. Barring 'Chinna' ('Chiththa' in Tamil) in recent times, he has been boring in most of the films. 'Takkar' and 'Maha Samudram' wouldn't have been so bad but for him.
