Remember Ram Charan's antagonist from 'Magadheera'? His name is Dev Gill. SS Rajamouli had spotted him in Mumbai and cast him as the main villain in the period fantasy action drama. The film became a blockbuster of sorts but Gill couldn't cash in on the immense popularity of the movie as well as he might have expected.
Dev Gill is now acting as the hero in a pan-Indian film titled 'Aho Vikramaarka'. Its Teaser suggests that the film is an imitation of Telugu masala action films like Rajamouli's 'Vikramarkudu', among others.
In recent years, films that imitated 'KGF' and 'Pushpa: The Rise' have bitten the dust. Think of Upendra's 'Kabzaa' and the more recent 'Harom Hara' by Sudheer Babu.
One of the producers of 'Aho Vikramaarka' is Aarti Devinder Gill, the wife of Dev Gill. It seems a lot has been invested in the project. One hopes this gamble pays off.
