In his latest interview, producer KL Narayana of Durga Arts said that he had paid advances to Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli fifteen years ago. Narayana is the producer of the Superstar's movie with the 'RRR' maker. The film will go on the floors later this year.
Narayana's words prove that it is a lie that Mahesh yearned to work with Rajamouli only after 'Baahubali: The Beginning' became a hit in 2015. This is a charge often laid by trolls on social media, who hold the perception that Mahesh wants to work with Rajamouli with the sole aim of doing a pan-Indian movie. The 'Guntur Kaaram' star wanted to team up with Rajamouli even before the director had begun the trend of multi-lingual releases with 'Baahubali'.
Producer Narayana, in the interview, thanked both Mahesh and Rajamouli for having the integrity to keep the word they gave him many years ago. They could as well have returned the advances and moved on with bigger producers. "Rajamouli has offers from Hollywood studios. Yet, he chose to continue with me," Narayana added.
