'Dune: Prophecy', the American science fiction television series set in the Dune universe created by Frank Herbert, has an interesting update. Bollywood actress Tabu, who was seen in the Telugu blockbuster 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' in 2020, has bagged a recurring role in the series. She will be seen as Sister Francesca.
The makers described Tabu's character in the series as strong, intelligent, and alluring. "Sister Francesca leaves a lasting impression in her wake. Once a great love of the Emperor, her return to the palace strains the balance of power in the capital," Variety quoted the makers as saying.
For Tabu, the offer is a huge blessing. A Hollywood media report said that she won National Film Award for best actress for the Hindi movies 'Maachis' and 'Chandni Bar'. Previously, she has appeared in 'Life of Pi', 'The Namesake' and 'A Suitable Boy', all three of which are international productions.
