The pre-release event of 'Gangs Of Godavari' (releasing in theatres on May 31) was held in Hyderabad on Tuesday with Nandamuri Balakrishna attending as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the 'Akhanda' actor said that the film's title was very unique.

The chief guest went on to speak about the film's hero and the rest of the team. He said that Vishwak Sen is energetic, much like him. "Much like me, he has been trying to bring variety to the table with every character that he plays. I ask my son, Mokshagna, to take inspiration from him, Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Adivi Sesh. Neha Shetty proved her mettle with 'DJ Tillu'. Anjali acted opposite me in 'Dictator'; she is a nice talent. Producers Naga Vamsi garu and Sai Soujanya have my best wishes. This film will present the beauty of the Godavari region while narrating an emotional tale. Director Krishna Chaitanya has done 'Rowdy Fellow' with Nara Rohit and 'Chal Mohan Ranga' with Nithiin in the past. His third film is going to win the love of the audience without fail," Balayya said.

Vishwak Sen thanked Balayya for gracing the event. He revealed that he hurt his knee while practising stunts for the movie. "At that time, my well-wishers prayed for my recovery. Balakrishna garu was kind enough to call me and speak to me for 15 years. When I met him, I became emotional. Usually, his voice is strong. At that time, however, he sounded quite low. He was genuinely concerned about my health. I couldn't stop my tears! Coming to 'GoG', it is coming out on the same date as my directorial, 'Falaknuma Das'. It has been five years since I made that film, thanks to the sacrifices made by my father, my friends. I thank the audience for supporting me over the years. I have so far worked with nine banners. Out of all of them, Sithara Entertainments is the best one. Lankala Rathna is my name in 'GoG'. I have imbibed the character so that it stays with me in real life. 'GoG' deserves to be watched with your family on May 31. The film will haunt you for days after you watch it. Neha Shetty will be called Bujji after this film. You will remember her the way you remember Neelambari from 'Narasimha'," Sen said.

Neha Shetty thanked producer S Naga Vamsi for casting her in 'DJ Tillu' first and 'GoG' now. She lauded director Krishna Chaitanya. "Big thanks to him for supporting me throughout. When I had to struggle with dialogue delivery, it was Sen who came to my rescue. I and Anjali have a few combination scenes. I want to reunite with her in the future," the actress added.

Director Krishna Chaitanya said that the film's glimpse video, teaser, songs and trailer have been successful. "The response from the audience has been amazing. I regard Trivikram garu as my guru. He is the one who caused this project to come into existence. China Babu garu (S Radhakrishna of Haarika & Hassine Creations) has been with us from start to end," the director added.

The makers said that Sen's character is going to subject the audience to a wide spectrum of emotions.
