'Gangs of Godavari' was released in theatres on May 31. Right on Day 1, it opened to good numbers. The momentum continued over the weekend. Despite the Exit Poll fever gripping Andhra Pradesh, the hold was highly encouraging.
In Nizam, the Vishwak Sen-starrer made Rs 2.48 Cr. In Vizag, it made Rs 77 lakh. In Nellore, it collected Rs 28 lakh, while it made another Rs 39 lakh in Krishna. In Ceeded, it made Rs 1.29 lakh. Guntur gave Rs 48 lakh, while the East and West Godavari districts gave Rs 93 lakh between them.
The Krishna Chaitanya directorial made Rs 6.62 Cr (Share) in the Telugu States in the first weekend. The theatrical rights are valued at Rs 8 Cr. The first-weekend recovery is pegged at 82%.
Starring Neha Shetty as the heroine, the film has Anjali in a key role. Goparaju Ramana, Nassar, Hyper Aadi and others are also seen. Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas have jointly produced 'GoG'.
