The other day, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and a few other actresses raised their voice for women's safety in Tollywood. Samantha urged the Telangana government to make public a 2019 sub-committee report on sexual harassment in the Telugu film industry.
Following her request, Manchu Vishnu has made an intervention. "As President of MAA, I have formally requested the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Deputy CM, and Cinematography Minister of Telangana to establish a commission aimed at enhancing the safety and representation of women in the Telugu Film Industry. Ensuring a secure environment for all, both in front of and behind the camera, is our priority," Vishnu said.
Vishnu hasn't mentioned Samantha's name in his statement, though. Samantha, by raising her voice via social media, may have set off something of value for women in the industry.
As for Vishnu, his 'Kannappa' will hit the cinemas in the month of December. Samantha is currently occupied with an OTT project.
