Actor Karthi was in Hyderabad on Monday to attend the pre-release event of his movie, 'Sathyam Sundaram'. On the occasion, a meme related to laddu was shared on the screen. Karthi was supposed to comment on it in a fun way. The actor said, "Let's not talk about Laddu. It's a sensitive topic." Karthi made the remark in the context of the Tirupati Laddu issue.
On Tuesday, speaking to the media, Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, warned Karthi in unambiguous terms. “People are making fun of Laddu. An actor said at a movie event yesterday that Laddu is a sensitive topic. Don’t you ever dare to say such things. I respect you as an actor, but when it comes to Sanatana Dharma, you have to think a hundred times before saying anything of that sort," the Jana Sena chief said.
There is a view that Karthi was hardly making fun of the Tirupati Laddu. If anything, he was careful not to offend the religious sentiments of the majority community. Wonder what made Pawan Kalyan feel he was making an offensive comment.
