The Award 1996 is the title of an upcoming message-driven movie helmed by Badugu Vijay Kumar, who has been associated with Bhudan Pochampally. The film brings to life the travails of handloom artisans who have had to be at the mercy of brokers and middlemen. It goes without saying that the drama is based on true incidents.
Senior producer D Suresh Babu today unveiled the Trailer at an event in Hyderabad. He appreciated the makers, especially producer Chirandasu Dhanunjaya of Mega Maze Entertainments.
Saying that The Award 1996 has its heart in the right place, Suresh Babu spoke of the social drama nature of the movie. He also appealed to the audience to not give it a miss. The maker of many hits in the 1990s and later learned about what went into commissioning the project.
Shiva Ram Reddy and Manne Sai Chandana Reddy play a married couple in the film, which is yet to lock its release date. Co-starring Bunny Abhiran, its music is by Prashanth Mark and cinematography is by Linga Goud. Raju Chennoori has edited it. Macharla Krishna, Nimmala Sathyam, Baby Lakshmi Praseedha, Baby Sathyanshika Namani, and Badugu Prajapathi will be seen in different roles. Co-written by Sathish Dandaveni, the film's art direction is by Vijay Kumar Badugu. Production Design is by Vemula Janardhan Netha.
