Nandamuri Balakrishna is 30 years older than Pragya Jaiswal. Their age difference has been highlighted by critics. How does the actress, who has acted in two movies (Akhanda and Daaku Maharaaj) opposite the actor, view the criticism?
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Pragya said that casting is done based on how a role is written. She added that the performer's skill alone matters. "When shooting for Akhanda, of course, we wondered what it would look like. But it was shot so well, as long as the audience believes they’re husband and wife, as long as justice is done to the story and role, I feel there’s nothing to talk about,” Pragya, also known for Kanche and Om Namo Venkatesaya, said.
Daaku Maharaaj had her in the role of the titular character's wife. The movie, directed by Bobby Kolli, was released for Sankranthi. Pragya Jaiswal and Balakrishna are also doing Akhanda 2, which also features Samyuktha Menon of Virupaksha and Bheemla Nayak fame.
