‘Tadakha’ sees Naga Chaitanya play a jobless rogue who helps his elder brother, Sunil (police officer) in secretly punishing suspects to save the victims and faced other challenges in life. This is the Telugu remake version of Tamil box-office hit ‘Vettai’ starring Arya and Madhavan. While Naga Chaitanya reprised the role of Arya, Sunil enacted the role of Madhavan in Telugu. Tamannah and Andrea Jeremiah were roped in to play the female lead roles. The film was directed by Dolly aka Kishore Kumar Pardasani of ‘Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam’ fame. Bellamkonda Ganesh has produced the film on Sri Sai Ganesh Productions banner. S Thaman scored music and Arthur A Wilson handled the cinematography. Check out the interview below where Naga Chaitanya talks about his ‘Tadakha’, releasing today and some challenges in his acting business.
Talking about ‘Tadakha’ Naga Chaitanya said: Do not mistake ‘Tadakha’ as a complete action flick. It has emotionsand projects the bonding between two brothers. I got impressed with the film when I saw the Tamil version ‘Vettai’. Bellamkonda Suresh bought the remake rights and quickly launched the film in Telugu. Director Dolly made quite a lot of changes to suit the Telugu nativity. Sunil entertains in the first half and transforms into an emotional character in the second half. He essayed the role of my elder brother. He is a very interesting person. Sunil’s role was done by Madhavan in the Tamil version. Madhavan did films in different genres like love, thrill, horror and action. I personally like him too.
When asked what made him to choose the project he answered: Even though I tried action movies in my past, I couldn’t prove myself in it. However, ‘Tadakha’ will attract audience from all segments including the mass audiences. Action part is very fresh in this film. I normally don’t attempt if it doesn’t suit me. Those who will watch the film will be surprised by Dolly’s work. Linguswamy is his favourite director.
On ‘Tadakha’ clashing with ‘Greeku Veerudu’ he opined: I watched ‘Greeku Veerudu’. The film is based on a realistic point. Of late films are dependent on one week’s collections. So I don’t think ‘Tadakha’ will not be a competitor for that movie.
About his long gap after failures of ‘Dhada’ and ‘Bejawada’ he said: Yes, I was disappointed with the gap that came without my knowledge. But henceforth I’ve decided to do two films a year. Depending on the director’s script I’ll decide whether or not to do the film. If I like a script I’ll send it to dad for finalization. My dad’s advice is very important to me. I never restrict myself to one particular genre of films. My aim is to be able to impress the audience in any kind of role given to me. We can’t predict which film will create trend. Hence I work for every film with dedication and try to give my best.
About stepping into Bollywood he said: I don’t have any thoughts of going to Bollywood, and even don’t mind if I go. But I want to do films in Tamil. There is lot of projects left in Telugu. I’m trying to improve my skills with each film.
Revealing the details of his upcoming projects Chaitu said: ‘Manam’ featuring grandpa, dad and me will go on the set in another one month. With the concept of ‘Hello Brother’, we planning to do a film following today’s trend. ‘Autonagar Surya’ has been completed and ready for release. Script work on ‘Charminar’ is going on at fast pace.
When asked about his interest in the remake of ‘Gundamma Katha’ he replied: I would love to be part of ‘Gundamma Katha….’. Tarak and I even discussed this subject. We are looking forward to the right script and the right time to come. Rana is a good of mine. I would certainly do a film with him as well if someone comes out with an interesting script.
About the remake of ‘Shiva’ he commented: According to me, it’s better not to touch a movie like ‘Shiva’ for a remake.
Talking about his other interests he said:I love motor racing, car and bike racing a lot. I also focus on fitness a lot.
When asked on his marriage plans he replied: “I never thought of marriage yet. I’ll definitely reveal if it’s fixed.”
Another side of Naga Chaitanya is that he is a spiritual man and follows his family policies sincerely. His grandpa is the best critic for him. “I’ll always react to the negative comments in a positive way because only then there will be growth”, said Chaitu, concluding the press conference.
