Sushanth passed away at her residence in Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad due to prolonged illness. She was admitted in Care Hospital some time ago and was being treated there. But after she was discharged yesterday evening, she took her last breath this morning, the 28th December, 2011. She was 78. She is survived by her husband, two sons – Akkineni Venkat, Akkineni
Nagarjuna and three daughters - Naga Susheela and two others.
The famous studio Annapurna Studios was established on her name by her husband Akkineni Nageswara Rao and films produced under Annapurna Studios banner were being presented on her name only. Hailing from Dendaluru village, Annapurna got married to the veteran actor on February 18th, 1949.
