‘Leader’ could not lead, ‘Vedam’ could not chant, ‘Param Veera Chakra’ could not be visible, ‘Prasthanam’ is headless, what else one can narrate about the poor place the Telugu films achieved in the National Awards, 2011. Movies like ‘Dabbang’ and ‘Ishqiya’ could convince totally the jury whereas much acclaimed films like ‘Leader’, ‘Vedam’ and ‘Prasthanam’ could not figure even in the best Telugu films category. What blind folded the judges is something only the lobbies can figure out.
However, there is consolation that a film titled ‘Advaitham’ could secure a place as Best Educational Film. Well done Tollywood, learn a bit of Hindi to speak their language when you take your movies to the National Level.
