Journalist cum comedian AVS is no more

Comedian AVS is no more. Some time ago, we have reported that the actor was in critical condition due to kidneys as well as liver failure. The doctors, who treated him in Global Hospital for the past 10 days have declared his condition serious citing multiple organ failure and advised his family members to take him back home. The actor took his last breath at 8.13 PM at his residence in Manikonda.

Born in Tenali on January 2, 1957, AVS aka Amanchi Venkata Subrahmanyam started off his career as a journalist, actor, comedian, producer and director. The actor started his film journey with ‘Mr Pellam’ and served the Telugu film industry for nearly two decades by acting in about 500 films. He won several awards including the prestigious Nandi award for his debut film ‘Mr Pellam’ in 1993. AVS remains in hearts of Telugu movie lovers for his most famous roles in ‘Shubhalagnam’, ‘Vinodham’, ‘Pelli Sandadi’, ‘Subhakankshalu’, ‘Sisindri’, ‘Indra’, ‘Venky’, etc. He directed four films - 'Super Heroes', 'Ori Nee Bangaram Kaanu', 'Room Mates' and 'Kothimooka'. AVS worked as General Secretary to MAA (Movie Artists Association) for 3 terms.
