All India Star Sridevi has joined the sets of South Cinema after two decades and it became talk of the town. Sridevi, who acted in a Hindi film ‘English Vinglish’ after a long gap, is playing a key role in Telugu-Tamil bilingual film after two decades. Sridevi has been approached by many directors and producers from Telugu and Tamil film industries to act in their films by offering huge amounts since long time. But, she hasn’t agreed to act in any film. It is a great news that she is playing a crucial role in Tamil star Vijay’s new film.
Speaking at the press meet, Sridevi revealed some details of the film. “When Chimbudevan narrated me the story, I felt very happy that I got a chance to do a stupendous role which I’ve not played till now. Therefore, I readily accepted to act in this and came to Chennai and joined the shoot. I’m really overwhelmed to be acting in this film. A song which is being canned in the combination of Vijay, Hansika and Sudeep is coming out wonderfully. There are many interesting elements about the film. I will reveal them before the release of the film,” said Sridevi.
The team has been shooting a song on Vijay, Sridevi, Hansika and Sudeep along with over 100 members of dancers at a huge set under the supervision of dance choreographer Raju Sundaram. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music.
Sudeep, who carved a niche for himself with the film ‘Eega’, has been approached by many Telugu directors and producers. But, he said no to the Telugu films due to the date issues. He says it’s a ‘well-written role’ and fantasy story that made him say yes to this film. “I’m very sure that the film will become yet another big turning point in my career,” said Sudeep.
After Kaththi’s stupendous box-office records, Ilayathalapathy Vijay is now going to create wonders with Chimbu Devan’s film. Shruthi Haasan and Hansika are playing female lead role opposite Vijay.
Briefing about the film details, Vijay said, “The film is being made as a commercial entertainer in a grand level with high technical values. At present, we are filming a song at a huge set specially designed by our art director Mutturaj. The film will have many highlights. This is the biggest budget film in my career. I’m very excited that Sridevi and Sudeep are playing key roles in this film.”
PT Selva Kumar, who has been working as a manager for 23 years, and Sibu are producing the film with huge budget.
Young producer Aditya Ram, who brought successful films like ‘Sandade Sandadi’, ‘Khushi Khushiga’, ‘Swagatham’ and ‘Ek Niranjan’, has established Aditya Ram studios at Chennai in 30 around acres. First schedule of this prestigious film will be shot in this studio for 60 days at specially designed 5 huge sets.
“I’m very happy that this huge budget film is being shot at our studios,” said Aditya Ram. The film features Vijay, Shruthi Haasan, Hansika, All India star Sridevi and Sudeep in the lead roles. The film also stars 40 prominent people in important roles. PT Selva Kumar and Sibu are producing the film under SKT Studios banner. Chimbu Devan is directing the film, while Devi Sri Prasad is providing music.
