Peddarasu Subramanyam is producing a historical film ‘Sathee Thimmamamba’ on SSS Art Creations banner. S Raj Kumar, who came to fame with ‘Tinnama Padukunnama Tellarinda’, is directing this film. Regular shooting has started recently and presently shooting is going on at Rama Krishna Studios in Hyderabad. Producer Subramanyam, who is the clan of Thimmamamba, has briefed the progress of this film.
“During the 14th century, while Harihara Rayalu and Bukka Rayalu dynasty were ruling Vijayanagaram, granddaughter of Sri Peddarasu Veerayya who belongs to of Bukkapatnam province, Thimmamma was married to Bala Verayya who belongs to Gootibayalu province. During a war Bala Verayya was injured and later on succumbed to death. During his cremation, Thimmamma too jumped into the fire and sacrificed her life which is known as Sathisahagamanam and with this great sacrifice she is remembered forever as Mahasadhvi. She remained in the hearts of Telugu people for her great dead. A banyan tree has taken life from the place where she sacrificed her life and it has become the world’s largest tree which stretched more than 7.5 acres and won the place in gunnies book of world record. People offer prayers to this Thimmamma marri chettu (banyan tree) which is located at Gootibayalu Village in Ananthapur district. And they believe that she is still alive in the form of banyan tree. They named it as Thimmamma/Thimmamamba Marri Chettu. I’m proud to bring this historic story to the present audience. I’m making this film not to make profit but to bring this legendry story to the present generation,” informs Producer Subramanyam.
Writer Balagonda Anjaneyulu said, “I’m very happy that I’m handling the huge responsibilities to write and direct a historical story. It’s an interesting thing that ‘Thimmamma Marri Chettu’ will not dry up even in severe droughts also. Every year, people perform Pooja on Eruvaka Pournami day near the tree. On the occasion of Sivaratri, every year celebrations will go on for 3 days in remembrance of Thimmamma.”
Managing director S Ram Kumar said, “Producer Subramanyam is producing the film without hesitating to spend money with good intention to bring this legendry story to the present generation. The film is being made on the basis of a historic novel and so we have designed huge sets and bringing ‘Sathee Thimmamamba’ with high quality. We are very confident that the film will become big success and will stand out forever in the hearts of Telugu audience.”
Lyricist and music director of the film, Bandaru Danayya Kavi said, “‘Sathee Thimmamamba’ will have 6 songs. Lyrics and tunes will impress audience very much. After listening to the music, producer is making the film with a rapid pace with extra confidence. I’m extremely confident that the album will stand out forever in the hearts of music buffs.”
Ranganath, Chandra Mohan, Suman, Prabhakar, Suman Shetty, Gundu Hanumantha Rao, Jr. Relangi, Chitti Babu, Aakella, Rajendra, Bombay Padma and Rajasri are playing important roles in the film.
