Young hero Sumanth Ashwin, Seerath Kapoor and Mishti Chakraborthy starrer ‘Columbus’ which was released on October 22 is running successfully with a hit talk. Ashwini Kumar Sahadev has produced this film under R Samala’s direction under AK Entertainments banner. R Samala, who worked as a dialogue writer, as an assistant director and as a co-director at Trivikram Srinivas and Vijay Bhaskar since 13 years, has made his debut as director through this film.How are you feeling the success of ‘Columbus’?
I’m very happy about the success of the film. There is a song in the film which comes in the lines ‘Devudu Okkadu Unnadante Nammaka mari Thappadu Anthe Oohinchani Varame Ichade…’. Likewise, the film is like a boon for me. I’m very happy that MS Raju has given me the direction responsibility. I’m extremely happy about the success of the film.
How did you get the opportunity to work with MS Raju garu?
I’ve penned dialogues for the film ‘Ishq’. After that I met Dill Raju garu. He praised the film and suggested me to meet MS Raju garu. He narrated me a script and asked me to pen dialogues for that. When the complete script was ready, he has given me the direction responsibility. I felt very happy.
Recently MS Raju garu has directed a film. How much he involved in direction department for this film?
He involved in all departments except direction. He has given full freedom to me.
How is the response from the audience?
The film came out wonderfully. It impressed the audience very much. I have received many phone calls and MMS appreciating me. The film is also receiving good collections. Producers and distributers are also very happy. This Dasara stood as very special to me.
Does Sumanth Ashwin did perfect justice to the role?
Sumanth Ashwin’s performance will stand out as milestone for this film. He didn’t behave like MS Raju garu’s son. It’s my privilege that Sumanth Ashwin is the hero for directional debut. Seerath Kapoor and Mishti Chakraborthy have given life to their roles. They made the film super hit with their glamour and performance.
What are your upcoming projects?
As of now, there are no plans. Talks are going on. I will soon come to the audience with a good project.
