Superstar Krishna, Smt. Vijaya Nirmala and Mahesh Babu, who were saddened by the demise of Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalitha, have expressed their grief. Superstar Krishna said, “After ‘Thene manasulu’ and ‘Kanne Manasulu’, Jayalitha has acted alongside me in my third film ‘Gudachari 116’. I was a big hit film. It ran 100 days and turned my career. Her glamour in the film is one of the reasons for the big success of the film. She also paired up with me in ‘Niluvu Dopidi’ and that film also ran successfully for 100 days. She played female lead opposite NTR in our own production ‘Devudu Chesina Manushulu’ and that is also a super hit. Later, she entered into politics and elected as member of the Rajya Sabha. She became Tamil Nadu Chief Minister by a large majority. She was better known as the 'Amma' to millions of her fans and followers in the state. She introduced appreciative schemes for Tamil Nadu people. It was a rare thing in Tamil Nadu that a same party winning consecutively. But, Jayalalitha won even in the next elections. She carved a niche for herself in the hearts of Tamil people. Her demise is a great loss for Tamil Nadu people. I pray to god to rest her soul in peace.”

“Deeply saddened at the loss of Jayalalitha garu. She came out as a winner despite facing numerous troubles. She provided many facilities to the poor people. Her demise is a great loss for her fans and Tamil Nadu people. 4 people died with heart attack after seeing the news of Jayalalitha’s death. After Indira Gandhi, Jayalalitha is such a powerful leader. She stood an inspiration for women across the nation. I pray to god to rest her soul in peace,” said Smt. Vijaya Nirmala.

Mahesh Babu said, “I was deeply saddened after seeing the news of Jayalalitha garu’s death. May god give enough strength to her family members, Tamil Nandu people and her followers to bear the loss.”
