The passing away of SP Balasubrahmanyam has left a void. He breathed his last on Friday and was laid to rest at his farmhouse in Chennai the next day.
The news is that doctor, social worker and upcoming filmmaker Dr. Anand Kumar has urged the Film Chamber to ensure that the legendary singer's statue is placed inside the Film Chamber building at Film Nagar, Hyderabad, as a mark of respect.
Dr. Anand had a cordial relationship with Blau. "I request the state and central governments to honor him with lifetime achievement awards. I hereby also request the Telugu film personalities to establish a statue in the loving memory of the great singer," he said.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy recommended SPB's name to the Centre for Bharat Ratna.
