Resul Pookutty, the acclaimed sound designer, famously won the Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing 'Slumdog Millionaire'. Last year's 'Pushpa: The Rise' had sound design by him.
The news is that the talented technician feels 'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram' is a gay love story. When someone described the SS Rajamouli directorial as 'garbage', Resul commented saying that it is a gay love story (unrelated comment, by the way).
Probably sensing controversy, the sound designer then tried to steer clear of an impending row by adding that he had only repeated what has already been there in the public domain. "I merely quoted something that was already in the public domain… no offense meant," he tweeted on Monday.
'RRR' has been described as a homoerotic love story between the characters played by Jr NTR and Ram Charan by many Western commentators. Resul has blindly copied their views as if they matter to Indian fans.
