Buzz! Two Bollywood heroines' films lose up to Rs 100 Cr

Bollywood is in utter doldrums. Everyone is talking about the scale of Ranbir Kapoor's ginormous flop, 'Shamshera'. Disasters featuring male superstars attract everyone's attention. But how about duds featuring female stars?

Between them, Taapsee Pannu's 'Shabaash Mithu' and Kangana Ranaut’s 'Dhaakad' are estimated to have lost Rs 100 Cr this year. Yes, a whopping one billion rupees. 'Dhaakad' alone is estimated to have lost something like Rs 70 Cr, although the figure seems very much inflated by some accounts. (Even if we are conservative in our estimates, the loss incurred by the two Hindi films must be something like Rs 70 Cr, which is unprecedented)

This is Taapsee's second disaster of the year, the first one being the Telugu film 'Mishan Impossible', which must have lost between Rs 5-7 Cr. For years, the 'Anando Brahma' actress has been fighting for pay parity between male and female stars. With 'Shabaash Mithu' collecting just about Rs 3.5 Cr (Nett.), she will not open her mouth about pay parity now. Even Naga Chaitanya's 'Thank You' has made more. So...
