With producer Bellamkonda Suresh on Monday claiming that the re-release of 'Chennakesava Reddy' has fetched Rs 5.39 Cr (gross), online fan wars have erupted over the supposed record-setting figure. There is a view, which is believable, that the Balakrishna-starrer's re-release was received to a not-so-thumping response in the Telugu States.
On his part, the producer yesterday announced that he will be donating the entire collections to the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital, which receives funds from philanthropists and donors from time to time. Balayya is emotionally invested in the hospital.
There is a solution to the noise about the collections. A trade analyst feels that the producer can make public the cheque written in favour of the Basavatarakam Trust and put the controversy to rest once and for all.
