Legendary cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan's life story is now firmly in the hands of actor Madhur Mittal after Tamil hero Vijay Sethupathy opted out of the project three years ago. The biopic of cricket's masterful "spin wizard" is helmed by MS Sripathy.
Its First Look poster was released on Monday as Muttiah turned a year older. Titled '800', the film will be released prominently in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. While a specific release date is yet to be decided, the film will come out this year itself.
"With short hair and a French beard, the leading actor, who shot to fame with 'Slumdog Millionaire', looks perfectly apt," the makers commented, unveiling the poster.
The film will trace the bowler's inspiring journey, the backstory of his grandparents, his Tamil Nadu roots, the Sri Lankan Civil War and more. The biopic of the internationally acclaimed bowler is expected to be befitting.
The film is produced by Movie Train Motion Pictures and Vivek Rangachari.
