Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who has been a vocal supporter of the BJP, will be contesting on a BJP ticket in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The same was confirmed on Tuesday by her father.
The confirmation comes just two days after the 'Queen' and 'Ek Niranjan' actress had a meeting with BJP's National President JP Nadda.
It was rumoured that Kangana would enter the political fray in 2019 itself. Rumours had it that her overtures didn't find any favour with the BJP High Command at that time. But now, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are in favour of her entry.
If Kangana indeed joins the BJP, her critics will come to the fore everywhere, right from Bollywood to the media and civil society. In the past, she made many controversial comments. Her most controversial posts on Twitter resulted in her account being suspended. She was out of Twitter until Elon Musk took over the platform a few months ago.
