A section of the Tamil industry media has started saying that Lokesh Kanagaraj intends to delegate a couple of projects in the LCU to his trusted Co-Directors/Assistant Directors.
The rumour is bizarre. The hype and hoopla around the LCU is mainly because of its director and the star cast. If Lokesh steps down and gives the mantle to his disciples, will a superstar like Kamal Haasan repose faith in the Cinematic Universe as unreservedly? Even Suriya and Karthi might be disappointed.
If Lokesh is the director, the range of each LCU movie will continue to go up. If he is not wielding the megaphone, there will be downsides. One hopes the LCU rumour is just a false one.
