Superstar Ajith is said to be charging Rs 150-160 Cr for his next movie, to be directed by Adhik Ravichandran of 'Mark Antony' fame. RS Infotainment is going to bankroll the untitled project.
The high remuneration seems to have been driven by the recent surge in the overseas collections of Tamil movies such as 'Jailer' and 'Ponniyin Selvan'. Even Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo' is also expected to become a massive overseas hit.
If Ajith is charging Rs 150 Cr or thereabouts, one can make a fair amount of guess that Vijay's remuneration is higher. His films carry better buzz among the Tamil and Telugu audiences. Vijay officially charged Rs 80 Cr for 'Master'.
A few years ago, a Kollywood producer publicly lamented that Tamil heroes demand exorbitant remunerations. He asked them to learn from Telugu heroes.
