Robinhood, starring Nithiin and Sreeleela in the lead, won't be a Christmas release. The film has been indefinitely postponed from December 25.
As per the buzz in the town, it is distributors and exhibitors who have impressed upon Mythri Movie Makers to opt for postponement. Probably, this has got to do with the perception that family audiences will avoid movies other than 'Pushpa 2' until Sankranthi 2025. 'Pushpa 2' has been watched at higher ticket rates, at least for the first four days of its run at the box office. Discretionary spend will take a hit after such high spend by the audience.
Robinhood is directed by Venky Kudumula of Bheeshma fame. Its postponement brings in its wake a rejig headache for its makers. As of now, Nithiin's Thammudu is slated to be released for Maha Shivaratri 2025. Thammudu and Robinhood will have to be adequately spaced out even though they belong to contrasting genres.
