It was on this day (February 26) in 2010 that 'Ye Maya Chesave' hit the cinemas. Not many are aware that Gautham Vasudev Menon had offered the script first to Mahesh Babu, not Naga Chaitanya.
"I narrated the story to Manjula Ghattamaneni, who found it quite interesting. But she wasn't sure Mahesh would accept the film. I met him a few days later to narrate the story. He told me he was looking for an action film under my direction. As per Mahesh, the audience would expect an action film if we joined hands. But my contention was that if 'Ye Maya Chesave' were to be done by Mahesh, it would eventually become a big film," Gautham Menon said in an interview.
The film starred Samantha Ruth Prabhu as Jassi, her cutest look till date. The film had music by AR Rahman.
