The makers of 'Indian 2' seem confident despite lukewarm advance bookings for the Tamil version in Tamil Nadu. However, their decision to raise ticket prices in Telangana might backfire.
The Telugu version, titled 'Bharateeyudu 2', received a price hike of Rs. 75 in multiplexes and Rs. 50 in single screens on Wednesday. This move could dampen opening-day enthusiasm in Telangana for the vigilante action drama starring Kamal Haasan and Siddharth, releasing in theaters on July 12.
A similar price hike in Andhra Pradesh is likely soon. Lyca Productions' decision to raise ticket prices before the film's release is risky. If it proves unpopular, they may be forced to reverse the hikes after the opening weekend.
With music by Anirudh Ravichander, the film also features Rakul Preet Singh, SJ Suryah, Bobby Simha and others.
