The trailer for 'Mathu Vadalara 2' is chaotic. It is more noise than substance. The humour density is low, and the only actor who leaves an impact is comedian Satya.
Director Ritesh Rana's third film is more a spiritual sequel to his second film, 'Happy Birthday' (which tanked at the box office in 2022). Madcap comedies rarely work in theatres, especially in the era of memes and 'Jabardasth'. One hopes Mythri Movie Makers' gamble pays off, though.
Starring Sri Simha Koduri and Satya as special agents from an oddball HE Team, the crime comedy has Sunil, Faria Abdullah, Rohini, Jhansi, and others in key roles.
Releasing in theatres on September 13, 'Mathu Vadalara 2' will face little competition from any movie till the release of Jr NTR's 'Devara' and it can hold ground for two weeks if the content is good. It's a golden opportunity for the film to make the grade commercially. By next week, Nani's 'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram' would be too old to make a dent on 'Mathu Vadalara 2'.
