Biopic of Shakeela is in the works. The film to be directed by Indrajit Lankesh of ‘Luv U Alia’, will go on floors this April. Kerala based Shakeela is nineties actress who featured in several Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. Actress Richa Chadha has been roped in to play the role of Shakeela. The film depicts the life of Shakeela starting from her foray into film industry at the age of 16 and tracing her journey from there. A source from the film unit says that Richa was very much impressed by the script and she is very excited to play Shakeela.
Richa was last seen in ‘Fukrey 2’. Her upcoming films are ‘Daas Dev’ and ‘3 Storeys’. Shakeela is making her comeback with a horror film ‘Seelavathi’.
