'Rules Ranjann' entertains, evokes laughs, and achieves its purpose

It is obvious that Kiran Abbavaram's 'Rules Ranjann' has been made with pure entertainment as its motive. Director Rathinam Krishna, after the heavy 'Oxygen', consciously made an effort to carve a family entertainer with a pronounced youthful flavour. If the family entertainment part has been ensured by the tracks featuring Ajay, Subbaraju, Abhimanyu Singh and Meher Chahal, the youth-centric segments feature our favourite comedians, namely, Vennela Kishore, Hyper Aadhi, Harsha Chemudu and Nellore Sudarshan.

"The scenes involving the comedians and the male lead are sure to be liked by the audience. Whoever has watched the movie is complimenting director Rathinam for keeping non-serious tropes as the mainstay," a source says.

The film draws its peripheral and occasionally central ideas from real-life situations. "From traffic rules to office protocols, 'Rules Ranjann' cleverly highlights the absurdity of everyday situations and leaves the audience in splits," a Netizen writes.

Amrish's 'Sammohanuda' and 'Dekho Mumbai' are foot-tapping. For the unversed, the first half of the entertainer is set in the Maximum City, where the protagonist undergoes a makeover from Manoranjan to Pub Ranjan. "I would say that the character study and such concepts don't apply to a film like this. This film has been made to entertain and it does so in a conventional sense of the term," an audience member says.

"The audience have been tired of larger-than-life actioners and all. The Telugus particularly prefer comedies over serious dramas. 'Rules Ranjann' understands this and delivers what the viewers want," a cine-goer says.

Neha Shetty's glamour quotient and other aspects have been accepted by a section of the audience.
