Director Virinchi Varma is doing a political drama titled 'Jithender Reddy'. Bankrolled by Muduganti Ravinder Reddy of Muduganti Creation, the film will head to theatres on May 3. The film traces some real-life incidents that took place in a Telangana village back in the 1980s. With cinematography by VS Gnanashekar, the film has music by Gopi Sundar.

On this occasion, producer Muduganti Ravinder Reddy said that it is essential for everyone to know true history. He added that it is a good development that Virinchi Varma, who is otherwise known for soft movies, has handled a subject of this sort. He predicted that actor Rakesh will be known after the protagonist's name after the release of 'Jithender Reddy'. "Jithender Reddy's history was thought to be made as a short film. But we made it as a feature-length film so that everyone knows about his achievements. We are going to bring you the story of Reddy's life as History. Knowing the history of people like Bhagat Singh and Alluri is as important as knowing about Jithender Reddy," he added.

Hero Rakesh Varre said, "I started my career as a character artist. 'Mirchi' and 'Baahubali' brought me good recognition. Nothing happens in the industry without media support. This film's producer, director Virinchi Verma, cinematographer Gnanasekhar garu, Uma garu and Vani garu are the pillars of this project. Having already accepted two films, I liked the story narrated by Virinchi Varma and decided to leave those films to do this one."

Director Virinchi Varma said, "The two films ('Uyyala Jampala' and 'Majnu') I have done in the past were love stories and films with good humor. I love human emotions and drama, not just humor. When I listened to the story of 'Jithender Reddy', I was given a book and asked to read it. After reading the book, I felt compelled to make this film about a powerful titular character. I went to Jithender Reddy's village and interacted with his friends there. This film comes with a strong story."
