The pre-release event of 'Kalki 2898 AD' was graced by Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone. Producer Aswini Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies, too, was present alongside director Nag Ashwin. Rana Daggubati acted as the host.
Speaking on the occasion, Big B said that the film creates a whole new world. "A film like this has never been made before. Congratulations to Nag Ashwin and all the team for thinking of such a film. I was very surprised when Nagi told me this story. The visuals are unbelievable. Taking on such a futuristic project is amazing," the legendary Bollywood Megastar said.
Kamal Haasan described Nag Ashwin as an extraordinary man who has a humble demeanor, much like the late K Balachander. "He has a knack for presenting his ideas brilliantly," the 'Vikram' and 'Indian 2' star said.
Prabhas said, "It's a dream come true. Amitabh sir is the first actor to reach the entire country with his films. After watching Kamal Sir's 'Sagara Sangamam', I asked my mother to dress me up like Kamal Haasan. Acting with such legends is an unbelievable experience. Deepika is a star who has reached the international level. Acting with Deepika was amazing."
The event had many highlights. After Big B tried to touch Dutt's feet, the latter, too, reciprocated. Deepika was seen with her baby bump. The QnA session involving Rana and the core team of the film was engaging.
The film's running time is said to be a few minutes short of three hours. Certified with UA by the CBFC, it is going to hit the cinemas on June 27. The sci-fi epic drama has many surprises in store. There is also the talk that a 2-minute cameo by a star hero is going to be one of the unmissable elements.
