Sri Krishna Creations, which brought sensational film ‘Killing Veerappan’ directed by sensational director Ram Gopal Varma to the Telugu audience, as presenter, Vishal’s ‘Kathakali’ is all set for release in Telugu states on March 18. Mass Hero Vishal, who carved a special mass image for himself by scoring consecutive commercial successes with the films like ‘Pandem Kodi’, ‘Pogaru’, ‘Bharani’, ‘Pooja’, ‘Maga Maharaju’ and ‘Jayasurya’, is coming to the audience with another mass entertainer ‘Kathakali’. Hero Vishal is producing the film on his own banner Vishal Film Factory under Pandiraj’s direction.
On the eve of film’s release, Sri Krishna Creations banner head Gouri Krishna said, “Vishal starrer ‘Kathakali’ became big hit in Tamil. With the confidence the film will become big hit in Telugu also, we have decided to release the film on March 18 in Andhra and Telangana regions. ‘Kathakali’ which was made as a different film in Vishal’s career, will impress the Telugu audience for sure.”
Hero and producer Vishal said, “’Kathakali’ is another different commercial entertainer in my career. Tamil version became big hit there. I hope Telugu version will also become big hit. It’s a suspense thriller which is set in the backdrop of murder mystery. The story happens in one day. Title is perfectly apt to the story. Director Pandiraj, who crafted films with children subjects, is the national award winner. He has crafted a different genre film for the first time. The film has a gripping screenplay. Catherine has given fantastic performance. Hiphop Tamizha has given extraordinary music. Madhusudan did wonderful job as main villain. We have made the film richly without compromising. I played a different role which I have not done so far in my career. The film is set in Vizag backdrop which suits for Telugu nativity. Sashank vennelakanti has penned excellent dialogues. ‘Kathakali’ will be very different from all my previous films. I’m sure ‘Kathakali’ will be a visual treat for audience.”
Heroine Catherine said, “’Kathakali’ is a different film. It’s an out and out suspense thriller. Hiphop Tamizha’s music is excellent. Camera visuals are superb. I’m confident that the film which became big hit in Tamil will become big hit in Telugu as well.”
Director Pandiraj said, “It’s an action thriller. ‘Kathakali’ was made based on the real incident that happened in my friend’s life. A murder occurs in an unexpected situation. Who did that murder-is the concept of the story. The film runs in a suspense mode from starting to the end. Vishal’s performance stood as highlight for the film. Hiphop Tamizha has given extraordinary re-recording. Heroine Catherine’s glamour and performance are the added attraction to the film. The film earned good name to me in Tamil. Vishal has good following in Telugu. I’m confident that the film which became big hit in Tamil will become big hit in Telugu as well.”
