Raj Tarun has a new moniker for himself. With 'Purushothamudu', which was released in theatres today, he starts to be referred to as the Jovial Star.
The actor, who made his acting debut more than 11 years ago with 'Uyyala Jampala', has mostly played happy-go-lucky guy roles in his career. In 'Purushothamudu', though, he plays the role of a responsible youngster who is waiting to take over his ancestral corporate entity. In a way, he is far from being a jovial person in 'Purushothamudu'. He is more of a sober person who is given to restrained language.
'Purushothamudu' also features Murali Sharma and others. The film is receiving fairly positive reviews. It has been compared with hits like 'Srimanthudu' and 'Maharshi' in terms of its themes and the characterization of Raj Tarun's character.
Raj Tarun also awaits the release of 'Thiragabadara Saami'. The film, co-starring Malvi Malhotra as the heroine, will head to theatres on August 2.
